As a Gardener - Handyperson, you will provide gardening, grounds, and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. The successful applicant will maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean, and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management
Ideally you should possess knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals. Experience in servicing gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks, as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department's policies and guidelines will be highly regarded.
Koondoola Primary School is located approximately 17 kilometres from the Perth Central Business District in the City of Wanneroo and has an enrolment of 265 students. Our school is one of the most unique educational environments in Western Australia. It brings together children from a wide range of backgrounds, languages and cultures. Koodoola PS has on-site Intensive English Centre and our close relationship with Burbridge School for children with Special Needs and it becomes clear that celebrating inclusivity is a way of life for the Koondoola school community. Over 70% of our students come from a language background other than English making Koondoola one of the most culturally diverse schools in the state.
The school has ample play areas and has two large natures cape areas meeting National Quality Standards to provide play based learning opportunities for our students. The spacious grounds are shady, offering a pleasant environment for staff and students.

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work-related requirements (selection criteria):
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management.
- Experience in minor servicing of horticultural/gardening equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including the safe use and storage of gardening equipment, materials, and chemicals.
