Hotel Grand Chancellor Launceston is seeking to recruit a General Handyperson who is motivated, dynamic, and able to multi-task and prioritise with pace to meet deadlines.
Supported by the Maintenance Manager in our Hotel you would be jointly responsible for the general repair, maintenance and ad-hoc projects in the Hotel. This is a hands-on position, requiring the individual to manage their own work load with a can-do approach and a knack for thinking creatively.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the main responsibilities of this role will be;
- General repairs and maintenance including Painting, Patching and Cleaning
- Prioritising, planning and carrying out preventative maintenance and maintenance requests throughout the hotel including guest rooms and public areas
- Maintaining hygiene and occupational health and safety requirements by ensuring that work is carried out safely and securing all areas of work at all times
Candidates will require the following key attributes:
- Proven broad practical general knowledge of building and facilities maintenance
- Ability to carry out a variety of Handyperson tasks
- Experienced in Painting
- Self-motivated and possess a strong work ethic with excellent time management skills
- Able to work both unsupervised and within a team environment
- Reliable, honest and good communication skills
- Willingness to provide a high level of service
- Be well presented, punctual and efficient
Previous handyman and Trades Qualification will be highly regarded but not essential.
