General Maintenance Handyman

Access Group Solutions is seeking a proactive General Maintenance/Handyman for a bustling retail complex in the Greater Newcastle area.

Our preferred candidate will be highly focused on Workplace Health and Safety, with a natural ability to relate well to customers who you will be working around on a daily basis. You will be able to work independently to attend to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) Tasks, to respond efficiently to Non-Scheduled Maintenance and to collaborate with other departments to deliver an exceptional guest experience.

Essential to the role:

• Varied experience in General Maintenance/handyman type works or a trade/similar qualification 
• You must have (or be prepared to obtain prior to employment) a WHS General Induction (White) Card and Police History Check (Less than one month old)

The Successful Applicant will have:

• A passion for excellence in providing a flawless customer experience
• Confidence in skills ranging from minor painting, furniture repair and plastering patches, among other things
• A strong focus on safety in the workplace, and a working knowledge of risk assessments and Safe Work Method Statements to operate without harm in a live retail environment
• An ability to maintain a safe working environment where safety standards are maintained, and an efficient installation or repairs process is implemented
• Well-developed computer literacy and ability to formulate responses and updates to work requests via electronic reporting system
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders
