About the Role

Due to growth, Team Global Express have two new General ManagerCommercial Finance positions. These strategic leadership roles are instrumental in driving the strategic priorities of our transformation journey, focusing on the Parcels and Industrial Business Units. Successful candidates will play a key role in enhancing network efficiency, financial planning, and commercial reporting, while fostering a values-led and high-performance culture across the organisation. On offer in Sydney, NSW and Melbourne, Victoria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic initiatives, including financial and commercial planning and analysis, to support decision-making and optimise operational efficiency.
  • Provide timely, action-oriented commercial insights and volumetric-based reporting to support the broader network strategy.
  • Lead strategic budgeting, regular forecasting, and manage the delivery of these financial plans, focusing on cost rationalisation and capital expenditure.
  • Serve as a key business partner to executive stakeholders, providing financial leadership on business cases, strategic initiatives, and capital investment plans.
  • Implement and monitor a robust risk control framework, oversee internal controls, and drive improvements as identified via audits.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring talent development, performance management, and alignment with organisational values.

About You

  • Robust commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities, with a proven ability to manage complex financial data and provide insightful analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence outcomes and lead change across the organisation.
  • Flexible and resilient, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and the ability to drive change effectively in a complex operating environment.
  • You possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics or Commerce with a focus on Finance/Accounting. A CA/CPA certification or equivalent is required; postgraduate qualifications in Business or Logistics are highly regarded.
  • At least 10 years of financial expertise in a decision support role within a dynamic, change-oriented environment. Experience in managing and leading projects and providing commercial support in transformational settings.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project finance skills, with excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
