The company has a significant history of providing high-pressure comminution and material agglomeration solutions. With headquarters in Germany, the firm has a solid presence in the mining sector with its subsidiary located north of the river in Perth, Western Australia. This subsidiary is a top performer with a turnover of $30 million and operates with a team of 10-15 proficient staff members.
The Perth facility is equipped with a comprehensive range of roller press solutions for the ores and minerals industries, as well as for material agglomeration applications. The Australian operations feature an advanced high-pressure grinding roller press (HPGR) pilot plant, assembled in Australia following German designs, to support the sizing of HPRGs for industrial purposes.
The company continues to improve its operational database and customer support through ongoing partnerships with mining companies and research institutions.
THE OPPORTUNITY
As the current Managing Director is retiring from running the day-to-day management of the Australian business, a rare opportunity has opened for an experienced General Manager to lead the Australian subsidiary into its next phase of growth and excellence. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the successful candidate will align the subsidiary's operations with the Group's growth objectives and leverage opportunities within the industry.
In this pivotal role, the General Manager will be on a clear path for professional growth, with the envisioned journey of employment culminating in advancement to the Managing Director role of the Australian subsidiary. This progression reflects the company's commitment to leadership development and acknowledges the strategic importance of the General Manager in shaping the future of its Australian operations.
The strategic scope of this role will involve:
- Overseeing and enhancing manufacturing processes to meet the highest standards.
- Implementing best practices across various business functions.
- Leading a team committed to innovation and excellence.
- Developing and executing strategic plans to improve business performance.
- Monitoring KPIs to exceed business goals, which include business plan targets, workforce stability, maintenance contracts, and customer satisfaction.

YOU
We are seeking an individual with a proven leadership background in the mining (or a related) industry and demonstrated experience in:
- Elevating manufacturing processes.
- Integrating best practices across business functions.
- Leading teams towards innovation.
- Strategic planning to enhance business outcomes.
- Monitoring KPIs to surpass organisational goals.
We will also be looking for:
- A degree in engineering, particularly in the specialisms of mineral processing, process engineering, or mechanical engineering (desirable).
- A verifiable trajectory of business sector expansion.
- Sales, marketing, manufacturing, and cost management expertise.
- Experience in team leadership and development.
- Superlative communicative skills, including the ability to inspire and align teams with the corporate vision.
The ideal candidate will be assertive, results-oriented, and capable of maintaining consistent performance. An independent and decisive approach, coupled with the ability to make autonomous decisions, is crucial.
