Operating in the mining and resources contracting and construction services sector, the Directors of the business recognize it is now time to partner with an experienced, astute General Manager to help lead the next phase of growth.
As with any General Manager role of a company that carries more than 60 staff, focus areas are broad and holistic, with particular emphasis on improving the commercial, risk, quality and efficiency, and people & culture functions of this success story, earning the company the right to grow to the next level and beyond. In addition to these areas, this self-driven leader of the organisation will identify growth opportunities, forge new client relationships, be a custodian of the company and brand with all external stakeholders – basically, be known in years to come as someone we “couldn’t have achieved success without” but someone who “inspired, led and developed a high-performing team to cause this success”.
To be considered for this excellent opening, you will require the following: -
- Proven track record, reputation and network in the resources contracting / services sector; companies who are delivering work at the “contractor” level of the usual construction / Resources Services supply chain.
- 20 years’ experience in the workforce, of which at least 20% of your time was in a growth-oriented private enterprise in a relevant sector.
- Previous full P&L responsibility ($50m+ top line), where ultimately you were the person responsible for success and strategic objective achievement.
- An obvious demeanour of hard-work, self-drive, authentic, and outcome focused leadership
- Agility to think like a big business leader, but when necessary, operate like a nimble SME owner.
