About us
The Interchange Health Co-operative (IHCO) is a not-for-profit General Practice based in Tuggeranong. The successor to the highly respected Interchange General Practice in the city. The practice provides high-quality affordable healthcare to many vulnerable patients, and has special interests in Drug and Alcohol medicine, Aboriginal Health, mental health and LBTQIA* health. The Practice demographic also includes young families and public servants from around the Tuggeranong area and this continues to grow. Our Practice is well established, we are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm and our clinicians work a variety of sessions within these hours. The Practice environment is a purpose-built, modern premises with 10 Consultation Rooms, a large Treatment Room Facility, an extensive Reception Area and Waiting room. Plus, a large spacious tearoom. We have a great team of in-house support including Practice Nurses, Administration Staff and a collaborative local Referral Network.
Qualifications & experience
- APHRA registration – or be working to attain FRACGP or FACRRM.
- Practice within RACGP clinical standards and quality of care, which is effective, efficient and in accordance with best practice and agreed standards and policies.
- Desire to improve the health and welfare of our Membership.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Ensure that approaches to clinical care are consistent with contemporary, locally informed, evidence-based practice by incorporating into clinical practice, IHCO clinical standards, including, but not limited to, the Standard Drug List and the Chronic Disease Protocols.
- Deliver primary health care, including treatment of acute illness and treatment and monitoring of chronic conditions.
- Provide health education to clients to assist them in understanding and managing their health condition and treatment requirements. Perform medical clinics as directed by IHCO.
