Key objectives of role:
This weekend part-time role offers flexible working hours Friday - Sunday in a beautiful beach side setting in Curl Curl. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in SPP's multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, General Practitioners, registered nurses and counsellors.
The Medical Officer is responsible for providing medical treatment for individual inpatient clients at South Pacific Private Hospital, including admission assessments, detox management and ongoing medical evaluation and care. Care for Day Program clients is limited to intervention in medical emergency (code blue) while awaiting transfer to emergency department.
Qualifications/experience/personal attributes:
- Recognised current NSW Medical Board qualifications (AHPRA)
- Current medical indemnity and workers comp insurance
- Current CPR certificate
- SPP Medical Provider Number
- Preferable 1 year Experience with Drug and Alcohol detoxification/Psychiatry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation
- Initiative, commitment and flexibility. Diplomacy and tact
- Commitment to the mission, vision and values of South Pacific Private
- Commitment to the philosophy of continuous improvement, promoting and participating effectively in Workplace Health and Safety, Quality Improvement and Risk Management practices to ensure that all staff adhere to SPP policies and procedures

Standard requirements:
- Professional integrity, adherence to a professional code of ethics and confidentiality requirements as per SPP policy and NSQHS requirements
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and professional boundaries
