Organisation Overview
Carbal Medical Services (Carbal) is a Not-for-Profit, charitable organisation that provides health services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in and around Toowoomba and Warwick.
The core function of Carbal Medical Services is to provide medical services to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people through two medical practices and multiple community programs and initiatives. Carbal covers the regions of Darling Downs, Southern Downs and Goondiwindi, this position will be based in our Warwick Clinic.
Position Overview
This GP position is critical to increasing access to medical services for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, within a supportive environment. Ideally you will possess a high level knowledge of Medicare systems and item numbers, especially in relation to Indigenous health. Naturally, experience in providing culturally safe services will be highly regarded and your sense of privacy and confidentiality will make you stand apart from other applicants.

Requirements:
Essential
- Current Fellowship with RACGP or ACCRRM
- Current registration with AHPRA.
- Current medical indemnity insurance;
- Interest in and understanding of issues that relate to the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander families;
- Strong written and oral interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships;
- Demonstrated effective organisational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines and manage competing priorities within a small team environment.
Desirable
- Demonstrated understanding of common health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
