About the Role:

We are excited to announce that we are inviting applications for a new position within our Mining team: the role of Geology Superintendent. Reporting to the Mine Manager, the primary focus of this position is to maintain a high level of geological processes within the Greenbushes Lithium Operation and ensure geological programmes are conducted in a safe, economic and environmentally responsible manner.

The position is of crucial importance to Talison and a great opportunity for skills, experience, and influence to be applied to support the delivery of Talison's strategic priorities.

This a residential role, based at our Greenbushes Lithium Operation, on an 8:6 dayshift roster (completing 9.5 hour days) back to back with existing Geology Superintendent. Company housing and a company vehicle are on offer, but you must be prepared to live and work within our beautiful Shire of Bridgetown-Greenbushes.

Responsibilities include:

• ensure that geological programmes incorporate environmental and safety considerations;
• on a monthly basis review mine reconciliation performance and investigate any variations;
• compilation of the Greenbushes Mineral Resource and applicable reports;
• compile capital budgets, including schedules and costs;
• assist with the preparation of reports to obtain regulatory approvals; and
• regularly coach and mentor subordinates.

About the Candidate:

The incumbent should have the following skills and/or experience:

• 10 years relevant industry experience in Senior Geological roles;
• experience in mine production, mineral exploration and mineral resource evaluation;
• experience in analysing and interpreting geological data;
• understanding of geological modelling, and Mineral Resource estimation and reporting process;
• an understanding of geotechnical issues in mining and related geotechnical data collection;
• ability to successfully budget and manage geological exploration programmes;
• contract management including preparation of tenders, scopes, quality management, monthly claim assessment;
• knowledge and ability to interpret mine safety regulations;
• making internal / external customers and stakeholders and their needs a primary focus of one's actions, through developing and sustaining productive relationships;
• tertiary qualifications in Geology;
• prior First aid training; and
• hold a current ‘C' Drivers Licence.
