FSG is a leading employee-owned geotechnical consulting practice with over 90 staff within Australia working across a broad range of markets, including infrastructure, mining, energy, transportation, land development, property & buildings, utilities and industrial developments. We work in urban, rural and remote locations in onshore, near-shore / marine and offshore environments. Our clients include principal contractors, consultants, specialist geotechnical contractors, mining and energy companies, private owners/developers and government agencies, insurers and legal firms.

About the role
We have new opportunities for Geotechnical Engineers and Engineering Geologists to join our growing Brisbane office. The role will initially include a significant fieldwork component that will provide the opportunity for travel across Queensland and elsewhere and involve the following:
- Planning, coordinating and conducting geotechnical investigations including fieldwork and scheduling laboratory testing.
- Training in field testing techniques and involvement in a range of on-site investigation and testing activities.
- Provision of construction phase site assessment services.
- Interpretation of geotechnical data gathered during the site investigations, performing analysis and developing recommendations to be implemented in design and construction.
- Involvement in a range of projects both locally and nationally, including large scale building developments and infrastructure works.
- The opportunity to develop your skills and expertise, with guidance from industry leading professionals.
- Over time we expect our field staff to move from a largely field based role to an office-based role incorporating analysis, design and reporting for a variety of geotechnical engineering projects for building, infrastructure and energy/resources applications.

Skills and experience
The role would best suit someone with the following attributes & experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology or in your penultimate year of study.
- 0 – 3 years’ experience in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
- Experience in site investigation and/or construction phase geotechnical services would be an advantage
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills
- Team oriented and ability to interact successfully with people in a range of industry positions and roles
- A full driver's licence
