The client is one of the largest mining companies in Australia with sites all over the world and an excellent culture to add to it. The role is a new role supporting one of their larger mine sites which is also based in WA but can support candidates from anywhere in Australia in terms of FIFO. The main aspect of this role is to understand that you will be working with multiple teams/stakeholders so an understanding and flexible personality is required.
Essential Experience
Experience in Geotechnical roles previously (5+ years minimum)
Geological awareness – lithological, structural, weathering processes, groundwater ETC
Limit Equilibrium modelling using Rocscience software SLIDE2, Dips, Swedge, other equivalent failure mode/mechanism study software
3D Engineering Software Packages
Tailings impoundment (above & below ground level),
Hydrogeology
Soil & rock mechanics (understanding mechanics of slopes in a wide variety of materials).
Tailings awareness and concepts
Good knowledge of investigation & data collection (drillhole design, geotechnical logging/ mapping, sample selection, testing)
