Form of workThe Suburban Connect consortium, comprising CPB Contractors, ACCIONA and Ghella, have been selected by the Victorian Government to deliver the first major tunnelling package on the Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) East project.
The package includes construction of a 16-kilometre section of the project’s twin tunnels, including tunnelling between Cheltenham and Glen Waverley, 55 safety cross passages between the tunnels, station boxes at Clayton and Monash and the construction of portals – the entrances and exits to the tunnels – at the stabling facility.
About the Opportunity:
Join our team as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer and play a pivotal role in delivering a major infrastructure project. Working with an experienced Engineering Manager, you'll drive the delivery of geotechnical solutions throughout the project lifecycle, overseeing site investigations, design, and geotechnical construction phase services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical project delivery: Manage external specialist consultants to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of site investigations, ground interpretation, geotechnical design and geotechnical construction phase services.
- Resolve complex geotechnical challenges: Proactively identify potential geotechnical issues and provide timely technical and constructability guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive timely and cost-effective completion of geotechnical activities: Support project management and client management duties for projects as required.
We Are Looking For:
- Technical Expertise: A degree in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical specialisation preferred), or a closely related field.
- Proven Experience: Ideally 3-10 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering, site investigations, construction phase services, or similar roles.
- Management Skills: Ability to effectively manage timelines, budgets, and sub-consultants.
- Collaborative Approach: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse teams, including engineers, designers, consultants, and construction personnel.
- Advantageous: Experience with tunnels, underground structures, or complex geotechnical environments will be highly valued.
