Form of workYttrup and Associates is a Consulting Engineering practice established in 1981 in Geelong, supplying Geotechnical, Structural and Civil Engineering services to the Geelong and broader market.
We are looking for a Geotechnical Technician for an immediate start to join our team. Experience in the field is preferred but not essential, particularly with the solo operation of a 4wd mounted drill rig and logging of soils to AS1726. On the job training is provided
Primary tasks include:
- Drilling and logging of boreholes using Yttrup drill rig
- Logging of boreholes using contractor drillers
- Collection of soil samples
- Classifying soils to AS1726 (training will be provided)
- Preparation of borelog reports and site plans
- Preparation of routine reports to AS2870
- Organising contractors such as traffic management, service locators and contract drillers
- Liaison with clients to arrange site access
- Footing exposures and hand augering
- Recording of internal floor levels
- General maintenance of machinery and arranging servicing of equipment
The candidate should have:
- Experience in a similar role preferred
- Full Australian Drivers License
- White Card (can do training when employed)
- Full working rights in Australia
- The ability to work as part of a small team
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
