The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Geotechnician to join the Technical Services Department at our George Fisher Mine Operations. This role is residentially based in Mount Isa and will require you to work a 5, 2, 4, 3 (9 day fortnight) roster. In this role you will maintain and repair the geotechnical equipment, install geotechnical instruments and download data for analysis by the Rock Mechanics Engineers.
Your key responsibilities include:
•Maintenance of instrumentation system
•Maintenance of geotechnical associated equipment
•Assisting with survey tasks, pull testing, heading audits, jumbo audits and geotechnical projects
•Downloading data from instruments
•Ordering of equipment and supplies to allow for the installation and maintenance of the various monitoring systems
•Collection of shotcrete data and involvement with shotcrete and backfill projects
The successful applicants will have:
•Current manual Drivers Licence
•Experience with Optic Fibre, Radio; LAN networks
•Experience installing and maintaining monitoring instrumentation
•Ability to follow relevant processes and procedures
•Prior underground experience is preferred
•A positive attitude and a proven safety record
•Intermediate use of Microsoft Office Suite
•Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
