Aviair, formerly known as Slingair, was founded in 1984 and has been under local Kununurra ownership since April 2016. We are a multi-award-winning regional airline, with significant operations in Kununurra, Broome, Karratha, and Adelaide. With in-house aircraft maintenance facilities, we have approximately thirty aircraft including Beechcraft Super King Air, Cessna Citation Mustang, Cessna Grand Caravan, Pilatus PC-12's and both twin and single piston engine aircraft. About the role
Aviair is seeking a highly skilled GA8 Airvan pilots to join our team. You can expect diverse flying opportunities throughout regional and metropolitan Western Australia. This a mix of scenic operations and VFR passenger transport, with the opportunity of fast progression into single pilot IFR role for the right candidates.
Training is provided through out approved Training and Checking organisation using a combination of synthetic and full motion simulators, which complement a detailed line training program.
Key Duties and responsibilities of the role include
In addition to your flying duties, you can expect to be exposed to a range of other duties including:
- picking up and dropping off passengers
- cleaning of aircraft
- assisting the operations team as required
- assisting other pilots with pre- and post-flight duties
- general maintenance of the base
This is a seasonal position based in Kununurra with the potential for full time work subject to performance and availability. In all cases the previous year’s seasonal pilots are extended priority when being considered for the next years seasonal work.
To be successful in this role
In addition to meeting the minimum experience qualifications, you will need to demonstrate that you have enthusiasm, energy, a high level of personal presentation, and have excellent people and communication skills. You will also have a positive attitude with the ability to be solution focused in challenging situations. The minimum experience and qualifications are as follows:
- CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (A)
- CASA Class 1 aviation medical
- Current Flight Review
- 500 hours total experience
- 300 hours as pilot in command
