Pilot Plant Technician

RDG Technologies Pty Ltd is a subsidiary of Resource Development Group Limited (RDG) an ASX-listed, West Australian-based company that provides multi-disciplinary contracting services to the resources sector and has a growing specialty and Critical Minerals focus. RDG Technologies has constructed a Pilot Plant to process waste bauxite reside (Red Mud) with the aim of producing high value products. The Pilot Plant is located in Bibra Lake, South of Perth and has begun operations.  

This is a world first Pilot Program and a unique opportunity to be part of an extremely exciting project, one with a focus on improving our environment by processing a waste with the aim of producing high value products.

An opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory Technician / Chemist to join the team on a full-time fixed term or part-time fixed term basis. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Constant focus on Safety First.
• Assisting in the delivery of a successful Peloton Red Mud Pilot Plant Project.
• Calibrating, cleaning and preparing laboratory equipment, including XRF, AAS and LIBS and associated equipment/vessels etc.
• Collecting, preparing and analysing samples, in particular, Red Mud (Bauxite Residue), reagents, High Purity Alumina (HPA), High Purity Iron Oxide (HPIO), Ammonium Sulphate and Ammonium Chloride.
• Collating and delivering sample results. 
• Participating in the High Purity Manganese Sulphate Monohydrate Project and
• Be involved in other Research & Development Projects as required. 
• Innovation with work processes, equipment and procedures.
• Participate in problem solving

What you need to Succeed:

• Front of mind focus on safety in all operations
• Tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy, Chemistry, Materials Science or related science *highly regarded*
• Experience of laboratory and/or Pilot Plant practices *highly regarded*.
• Experience working in a skilled team preferably in a laboratory, Pilot Plant environment.
• Strong communicator 
• Act with integrity in all dealings.
