Governance Lead
Are you a driven and experienced governance adviser seeking a dynamic opportunity? IPAA Victoria is looking for a highly motivated person to join our team and take charge of providing crucial support to the board, board subcommittes and communities of practice and IPAA management.
The Governance Lead is responsible for providing operational governance support to ensure compliance with governance requirements of an incorporated association. The role supports the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in the development and implementation of policy, process and reporting to underpin effective business operations.

- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and ability to deliver innovative solutions
- Sound judgment, able to influence others and be seen as a credible source of advice
About the position
The Governmance Lead works closely with the Chief Operating Officer and across the IPAA Victoria Leadership Team and the IPAA Board.
This position will suit somebody that enjoys overseeing and coordinating the delivery of strong internal governance and business processes, including:
- Substantial experience in providing board and committee secretariate support, preferably in a not-for-profit or association
- Sound experience in drafting executive and board level briefing papers
- Demonstrated understanding of corporate governance principles, particularly in the not-for-profit sector
- Demonstrated understanding of the broader public purpose sector
- Experience gained in a member-based organisation is desirable
