Summary of Responsibilities:
As the Governance Officer, you will ensure the provision of best practices and support governance activities within the organisation. Your responsibilities include coordinating various tasks such as register maintenance, document production, policy coordination, and governance reporting.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent administrative skills with a focus on agenda preparation and minute recording
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage projects, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of legislative requirements and local government operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant IT tools
- Exceptional time management skills and attention to detail
Experience and Qualifications:
- Experience in governance services or executive administration, preferably in a legislative environment
- Working knowledge of minute and agenda production
- Familiarity with relevant legislations and regulations
- Current driver's license
Desirable Criteria:
- Qualification in Governance, Risk, Business Administration, or related field
- Understanding of delegations and sub-delegations
- Previous experience in Local Government
Occasional work outside standard hours may be required in special circumstances.
