Mala'la Health Service are seeking an experienced specialist general practitioner to provide GP locum services at their Maningrida Health Centre.
Dates available from April to August 2024 – minimum three to four weeks placement
• Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation, servicing surrounding homelands in the North East Arnhem Land region of the Northern Territory.
• Full time GP opportunity available
• Fly In and Fly out opportunity.
Eligibility to apply
- Current non-restricted specialist registration by the Australian Health Practitioner Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM
- Previous experience in Indigenous Health
- Experienced in Communicare patient record system highly desired

Visiting services include a surgeon, physician, paediatrician, dental team, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, mental health and occupational therapist.
Clinic Hours
- 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
- The GP locum may be required to be available for emergencies, otherwise no on-call services or weekend work

• Accommodation and vehicle provided by the health service.
Patient record system
- This clinic uses Communicare
- Previous experience in Communicare desirable
- Orientation will be provided
Maningrida is one of the largest Indigenous communities in the Northern Territory, located approximately 352 kilometres east of Darwin on the Central Arnhem Coast at the mouth of the Liverpool River.
The population of Maningrida is approximately 3,000 people which comprises town residents and traditionally-based outstations, or which there are more than 30. A culturally diverse community, with 13 different language groups spoken, ceremony and traditional artwork remain an important part of daily life for many community members.
