About the Role
Applications are invited from experienced neurological physiotherapists for a Grade 3 position within our acute Neurosciences and Palliative care (NAP) team. This Gr 3 position is responsible for providing high quality physiotherapy management to the patients of the Stroke unit and acute Palliative Care unit at the Fitzroy campus of St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne. The position involves taking a leadership role within the department and in the neurosciences multidisciplinary team, as well as supervision of other physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants and students. The role also assists the neurosciences team leader in the management of the NAP team.

Must have, or be currently eligible for, National Physiotherapist Registration.
Classifications for this position will be VB7 - VC1 ($102,091.60 - $116646.40 per annum, pro-rata for part time)
Duties include
- Provide leadership and co-ordination of the neurosciences team
- Provide expert clinical management for patients in the acute Stroke and acute Palliative care units
- Supervision and management of the clinical education program for undergraduate students
- Provide a tertiary level of consultancy in outlying wards as required
- Involvement in multidisciplinary ward meetings and planning
- Lead research and/or quality improvement activities in the NAP team
- Co-ordination and planning of the Neurosciences / Emergency department weekend service
Your contribution
- Minimum seven years of post-graduate experience
- Post-graduate qualification in relevant area of physiotherapy (or working towards) would be highly regarded
- Broad experience in and knowledge of physiotherapy management in a Neuroscience setting.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and extensive experience in the supervision and professional development of physiotherapists, students and support staff.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
