We are Australia' s leading cat and dog retailer and we are searching for a skilled and driven Graduate Accountant to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team. We are looking for someone who will enjoy working with different stakeholders across all areas of the organization and within a dynamic team to provide financial support.
This position would suit a recent graduate with an accounting or commerce degree. Previous experience is highly regarded but not essential.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and Optimize Purchasing Processes and Systems: As a Graduate Accountant, you’ll be involved in streamlining purchasing processes and ensuring efficient systems for procurement.
- Coordinate with Inventory Control: You’ll work closely with inventory management to track and manage stock levels effectively.
- Bookkeeping & Bank Reconciliation: Handling financial records, reconciling bank statements, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.
- End-to-End Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Process: Managing both payables (what the company owes) and receivables (what the company is owed).
- Assist with Month-End & Year-End Close: Supporting the financial reporting process during month-end and year-end periods.
- General Administrative and Ad-Hoc Duties: You’ll likely be involved in various administrative tasks related to finance.
Requirements:
- Accounting or Commerce Qualification: A degree in accounting or commerce is essential.
- Strong Analytical Skills and Meticulous Attention to Detail: As a Graduate Accountant, you’ll need to analyze financial data accurately.
- Proactive Attitude with a Readiness to Take Initiative: Being proactive in identifying and solving financial issues.
- Ability to Multitask, Prioritize, and Manage Time Effectively: Juggling various responsibilities efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications: Especially Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills: Clear communication is crucial in finance.
