Ecology and Heritage Partners Pty Ltd is an established consultancy providing services in Natural and Cultural Heritage. With a highly experienced team of consultants the Company works throughout Australia and this allows us to service a wide range of clients, including Government agencies and private clients.
With our ongoing growth in the Company we are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual who wishes to further develop their experience and skills as a Graduate Botanist.
While the position is based at either our Melbourne or Geelong office, to service work primarily located in Victoria, interstate travel may be occasionally required. The position requires familiarity with Victoria's flora and ecosystems, a working understanding of Victoria's Guidelines for the removal, destruction or lopping of native vegetation, and other environmental legislation (e.g. Commonwealth EPBC Act). The ability to communicate this information, both verbally and in technical reports, is a key requirement of the role.

- Tertiary qualification, preferably a degree or post graduate degree in environmental science, (botany, ecology), natural resource management, or related discipline.
- A minimum of one year practical experience undertaking field based botanical surveys, preferably in an ecological consulting capacity.
- VQA accreditation desirable.
- Knowledge of, and how to apply, environmental legislation and government policy such as the EPBC Act and Victoria's Guidelines for the removal, destruction or lopping of native vegetation.
- A willingness to learn quickly and demonstrate a high level of professionalism.
- Other non-technical skills required include excellent communication skills, a high level of computer literacy, and the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
- You should be prepared to work flexible hours, including when conducting botanical field surveys, and be willing to travel to field locations throughout Australia.
- A Current Victorian Driver's License and capacity to work outdoors essential.
