About The Role

We currently have opportunities available in our Graduate Communications Program to offer graduates who have recently completed a Bachelor of Communications or relevant discipline.

Applications will also be considered from current students who will be completing their degree by July 2024 for our mid-year intake, or December 2024 for our 2025 intake.

You'll be part of our Strategy and Communications Directorate and will embark on a two-year rotational program helping raise awareness and understanding of our projects, initiatives, and activities across a range of internal and external communication channels.

You'll be part of a team creating content for our social media channels, planning campaigns, writing media releases, annual reports as well as planning events and developing strategies to engage local communities on our transport infrastructure projects - no two days will be the same!

We offer a well-structured rotation plan and formal training to support your development. On completing the graduate program, you will be offered a permanent position in the organisation.

Main Roads Western Australia is looking for talented Communications Graduates to join our exciting Graduate Communications Program.

To be considered for our Graduate Communications Program, you must:

  • Be a recent university graduate (within 3 years from completion of your bachelor's degree) or have your degree completed by July 2024 for our mid-year intake, or December 2024 for our 2025 intake.
  • Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Be motivated to work at Main Roads, demonstrated through your strengths and personal attributes
  • Have a career interest in communications
  • Have strong problem solving skills, including embracing change and challenge
  • Be great at working together in teams
  • Be able to build relationships with stakeholders

Please submit the following documentation in your application:

  • A copy of your Bachelor in Communications or relevant discipline - completed within the last three (3) years and your academic transcript. Applicants that are currently completing their studies are to submit their most current academic results.
  • Your CV
  • A copy of your current WA motor vehicle (car) Driver's Licence (or approved equivalent)
  • Proof of Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
  • A cover letter outlining why you would like to be a Graduate Communications at Main Roads, highlighting your skills and abilities relevant to the role.

Please ensure your cover letter does not exceed two (2) pages.
