About the Role
We are currently seeking a Graduate Engineer to join our Rail Infrastructure Maintenance Team. The primary purpose of the Infrastructure Engineer is to introduce effective reliability solutions while providing an effective level of engineering and technical support to Service Technicians to meet and exceed contractual KPI’s for the reliability and availability of the Adelaide Tram Network Infrastructure.
In cooperation with Asset Management and Operations the role will provide preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance solutions for the Adelaide Tram Network Maintained by Torrens Connect.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Reliability Support for the Adelaide Tram Network Infrastructure in the form of technical analysis, troubleshooting, reporting, customer liaison and maintenance analysis.
- Prepare and maintain standards and work instructions for infrastructure maintenance activities.
- Identify and pursue improvements to optimise whole-life asset performance and cost.
- Monitor compliance with technical standards for infrastructure.
- Provide Engineering/Technical support in the areas of design change, engineering upgrades, product improvement, the management of maintenance activities, and the preparation of maintenance plans.
- Perform and/or supports installations, repairs, testing and commissioning of parts, components, systems and product as required, to support Reliability analysis ensuring the reliability and availability of infrastructure.
- Provide some after-hours on-call support as required.
- Assist in the investigation of ongoing component, system or service failures, providing advice and assisting in effecting design changes to improve product or component efficiency and/or reduce cost of operation.
- Maintain regular open communication with the customer, sub-contractors and AMO management, keeping them informed of any impediments to achieving and maintaining the highest levels of service and any critical issues that could affect fleet performance.
- Assist in developing service strategy, procedures and effective maintenance programs for the operation that ensure AMO Rail Standards are met and customer satisfaction is won.
- Continuous monitoring and trend analysis.
- Provide technical input where required to HSQE documents.
- Ensure compliance with all record keeping requirements.
About you
We are looking for a Graduate Engineer with the ability to diagnose and rectify failures or breakdowns under pressure.
It is essential that you have:
- A degree in Engineering (Electrical)
- A thorough understanding of Reliability Management and Quality Assurance systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and professional, responsive, insightful and decisive decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and competing demands.
Desirable but not essential:
- Experience gained in the rail, automotive, military, defence, avionics or any other safety critical environment.
- Knowledge of Maximo or other Asset Management system (preferred)
- Knowledge of SCADA systems
- Experience working with low & high voltage
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Applications and reliability programs (preferred)
- Strong IT skills
