Graduate Engineer - Materials

The Role

To assist with the growing workload that we have a role in our Brisbane office, and we are seeking to recruit a Graduate Materials Engineer with some exposure to the construction industry.

Ideally you will with have some knowledge in concrete and other construction materials.

We are seeking an individual that is passionate about Materials and can assist the team with the below activities:

• Condition assessment work and diagnostic testing on a wide variety of structures including reinforced concrete and steel, prepare condition assessment reports and repair specifications for the structures,
• Develop remediation specifications for concrete and steel assets,
• Support the major projects team with materials related queries and RFI’s / NCR’s.

The main focus of the materials role is to support the wider BG&E Brisbane disciplines, including Buildings, Civil, Rail, Bridges, Infrastructure and Facade groups.

About you

• You will hold a bachelor's degree ideally in materials engineering / Science or structural / civil degree.
• Willingness to assist in the undertaking of condition assessment work and diagnostic testing on a wide variety of structures including reinforced concrete and steel, prepare condition assessment reports and repair specifications for the structures.
• Assist the senior staff in the development of durability plans for major projects.
• Field work experience and site related experience that understands the local landscape and environment and how to review with required site tool equipment.
