Job description

Graduates are an integral part of Mercy Health’s commitment to develop our future workforce and as such, we welcome graduates to join our team to provide compassionate and responsive care to people in need.

Our programs are designed to support whilst making the transition from student to Registered Midwife within a supportive and welcoming environment. The aim is to promote educational opportunities to graduates as they consolidate their theoretical and clinical skills into practise. This is a structured program with a comprehensive orientation, paid professional development days, work shop and debriefing sessions which are supported by a dedicated learning team.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be presented with a certificate of completion.

  • 64 Hours per fortnight, permanent part time
  • Position is located at Werribee Mercy Hospital

All applications must include the following supporting documents:

  • Letter of application addressing the key selection criteria in 600 words or less

Key Selection Criteria:

    • List the program you have applied for and outline why you have applied for a Graduate Program at a valued based organisation like Mercy Health
    • Outline what makes you an outstanding applicant for this position
    • Provide any previous experience in a health care setting 
  • Two page Curriculum Vitae outlining relevant experience and clinical rotations 
  • Two clinical referees including their professional title, place of work and both email and phone contact details matching PMCV references
  • Certified copy of academic transcripts to date (including ‘key to results’)
  • Two recent summative clinical appraisals (must be certified)

Werribee Mercy Hospital is a General Public Hospital located in the rapidly growing Western suburbs of Melbourne. Our services include surgical, medical, maternity, newborn, renal dialysis, emergency, mental health, rehabilitation, aged and palliative care. The hospital has recently undergone significant expansion with the opening or our new intensive care unit, additional operating theatres and the opening of two new wards, taking the total number of beds to 298.  WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Candidates are required to meet the position and qualification requirements.
  • Provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check (Mercy Health may conduct additional background checks subject to current legislation).
  • Proof of vaccination status consistent with public health orders and with Mercy Health’s policy (includes but is not limited to COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination compliance requirement)
