GRADUATE MINE SURVEYOR
Fosterville Gold Mine invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the position of Graduate Mine Surveyor. The primary purpose of this position is to provide all survey requirements for the operations whilst ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and company safety, health and environment standards and procedures.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, your dutieswill include:
Specifically, this role involves but is not limited to:
- Engagement with Safety programs and initiatives.
- Effective communication with operations to support survey activities.
- Timely input of data to survey databases to support planning and reporting.
- Maintain all survey equipment such as cleaning, servicing and calibration.
- Assist with the processing of data and reporting of daily tasks.
- Assist Mine Surveyors with, but not limited to:
- Establishment and maintenance of all underground / surface survey control
- Establishment and maintenance of direction and grade control for development headings
- Production ring mark-ups and cavity monitoring (CMS)
- Prism monitoring
- Diamond drill hole mark-ups and pickups
- Surveying of all vertical development (vent rises and escape ways)
- End of month calculations for development and production reconciliation
The successful candidate should possess the following:
- Possess a strong commitment to safe work practices
- Hold tertiary surveying qualifications
- Hold a current Drivers License (Manual)
- Demonstrate good computer skills
- Have the ability to work unsupervised
- Have effective communication skills and be able to work well within a team environment
- Experience with mining software (Surpac or Deswik) desirable but not essential
The roster for this residential position will be 5/2 (Monday to Friday) with the option for a 4/3 roster.
