Grain Inspector / Classifier – Agricultural Services
The Grain Inspector / Classifier role is a key position within the AmSpec Agri business structure. The role entails representing AmSpec at third party grain packing sites, performing independent inspection & sampling and accurate reporting of inspection data as well as ensuring prompt dispatch of samples for grading/classification and third party external analysis. Excellent communication skills are vital for the role when representing AmSpec and liaising with third party stakeholders.

The big picture:
Our expanding AmSpec Agri business line now offers this diverse role as part of our friendly and competent team at Port Adelaide on a casual basis, reporting to the Agricultural Services Operations Supervisor.
Main Duties:
- Sampling/Inspection of bagged & bulk agricultural commodities during container loading operations.
- Accurate and timely recording of inspection data
- Load Supervision of sampling protocols for bulk vessel exports as/where deemed necessary.
- Accurate and timely reporting of inspection data in a timely manner.
- Timely packaging & dispatch of samples to AGRI HQ.
- Classification of agricultural commodities (cereals & pulses) as/where deemed necessary.
- Provide broad support to the overall Agricultural Services operation as deemed necessary.
- Maintain positive & proactive relationships with packing site representatives and other client & industry stakeholders

- Maintain confidentiality, specifically, do not disclose any proprietary information and data in the performance of your work duties for AmSpec.
- Works within all company policies and procedures and, behaves in accordance with the AmSpec Group Global Code of Conduct.
- Ensure that all required qualifications, inductions and licences are current at all times.
- Other tasks as directed.
Education / Qualifications / Licences:
- Valid Australian Drivers License
- Ability to gain an Australian Police Clearance
Technical Knowledge / Skills / Experience:
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised as well as within a team environment.
- Knowledge of grain industry classification standards.
- Proven experience in classification of grains, pulses, oilseeds and other agricultural products.
- Proven experience in sampling of grains, pulses, oilseeds and other agricultural products.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to meet set deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize tasks.
