Manildra Group is a major force in Australia’s agricultural and food industries and is the largest user of wheat for industrial purposes in Australia.
An opportunity is available for a motivated individual to manage the day-to-day activities of one of our busy Grain Sites. This is a permanent, full-time role based at Bellata NSW.
The role will encompass all aspects of grain receival, storage, fumigation and pest control, operating heavy machinery, grain sampling and out-loading of all commodities stored within our facility.
The Role
- Plan and manage all grain storage and handling functions and systems within the site, to minimise costs and maximise efficiency, in conjunction with Operations Manager
- Ensure all stock storage principles and procedures are applied at all times
- Provide direction on health and safety processes, training, and coordinate staff rostering and supervision of the work team, including seasonal harvest workers
- Oversee the maintenance of site presentation to meet company standards – Weed control, grain husbandry, equipment hygiene, tarp management.
- Ensure grain stock accuracy in terms of quality and quantity are maintained at all times and maintain site equipment.
- Ensure Audit compliance with documentation completion and filing as required.
- Assist in maintaining a supportive, inclusive, high performance culture at the site.
- Lead, direct and adhere to stringent Safety, Health and Environment policies under which the Company operates.
- Connect and communicate with growers and customers
About You
- Five years previous experience in a similar role
- Deep understanding of the grain industry
- Current drivers’ licence
- Well developed awareness of Work Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement processes
- Strong attention to detail and highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead a team in an environment with concentrated workload in seasonal periods
- Autonomous self-starter who works well in a dynamic environment – willing to show initiative to improve current processes
- Competent in confined space, work at heights and chemical handling (advantageous)
