Experienced Manager with previous experience working in the grain industry.
The Role
- Provide direction on health and safety procedures, training, and coordinate staff rostering and supervision of the work team, including seasonal harvest workers
- Connect and communicate with growers and customers
- Protect and store grain in bunkers or permanent silo storage (includes building, breaking-down and tarping bunkers)
- Sample grain received and train to grain handlers on sampling processes
- Receive grain deliveries at the weighbridge and keep accurate records of weights received
- Operating equipment including front end loader & bucket elevator
- Routine and ad-hoc hygiene activities that are critical to site cleanliness standards
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Current drivers’ licence
- A solid understanding of Work Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement processes
- Strong attention to detail and highly developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lead a team in an environment with concentrated workload in seasonal periods
- Autonomous self-starter who works well in a dynamic environment – willing to show initiative to improve current processes
- Competent in Confined space, work at heights and chemical handling (advantageous)
