Laguna Bay manages the evaluation, acquisition, development and management of agricultural assets on behalf of institutional investors. There are currently seven assets in the fund portfolio including wineries, dairies, oyster farms, fruit orchards, turf nurseries, cattle feedlots as well broad acre cropping and grain storage.
The Opportunity
This new role will be responsible for sourcing funding opportunities, developing grant proposals and ensuring compliance with successful grant opportunities across Laguna Bay’s portfolio of agricultural assets. The Grant Coordinator will be responsible for the full grant lifecycle, including researching grants, application drafting, submission, monitoring, reporting and compliance with grant requirements. This position may require interstate travel to our farming investments.
Flexible location and working hours. Laguna Bay's office is located in the James Street area in Brisbane, but work from home is an option.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their business and identify relevant funding priorities
- Research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources to identify potential funding sources
- Write clear, compelling, and persuasive grant proposals
- Collaborate with program managers, finance staff, and other team members to gather information, data, and supporting documents needed for grant proposals, ensuring accuracy and relevance
- Manage the grant proposal submission process, including compiling application materials, submitting proposals through online portals and tracking proposal statuses and outcomes
- Prepare and present grant budgets and forecasts
- Monitor compliance with grant agreements
- Cultivate relationships with funding agencies, partners, and other stakeholders

Qualifications
Essential
- Tertiary qualification
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- Experience working with government grants
- Knowledge of government regulations and compliance requirements related to grants
- Strong inter-personal, writing, editing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Experience or background in the agricultural industry
