Job description

The Grants Management Senior Consultant is involved in management of the provision of funding to community sector organisations and the development of appropriate funding agreements, making payments to organisations and acts as a key point of contact for community sector organisations with the Agency.

The Role:

  1. Provide high level advice in regard to development, implementation and management of service agreements with community sector organisations.
  2. Act as a key point of contact within the Agency for community sector organisations and manage the relationship, in consultation with the relevant program area, between the organisations and the Department, including the provision of high level advice to the Minister’s Office.
  3. Research and prepare correspondence, reports and financial reviews.
  4. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other departmental areas, community sector organisations, external agencies such as peak bodies within the community sector and other stakeholders in relation to the administration of payments to community sector organisations.
  5. Provide advice and support to working groups and committees on departmental projects impacting on community sector organisations.

The Team:

The Policy, Purchasing, Performance and Reform (PPPR) Group of the Department of Health (DoH) fulfils the core system management functions of strategy and planning, purchasing, performance management, monitoring, reporting and analysis on behalf of the Secretary and the responsible Minister. Strategic Purchasing and Funding (SPF) is a team under PPPR.

SPF manages and undertakes a lead role in the purchasing of services within the public and private sectors that drive high quality, value for money outcomes for Tasmanians, and monitoring the delivery of those services by providers to ensure key outcomes are achieved.

  • Provides strategic policy advice and guidance on purchasing of health services across the State,
  • Plays a central role in the development of the annual service plan with the THS Executive, and
  • Works closely with other teams in PPPR as well as the Department of Health.

Details of Appointment

Please note two positions are being advertised:

1 x Permanent full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

1 x Fixed term full time day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight for a period of twelve months, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours may be negotiated with the successful applicant

Salary: $104,756 - $118,730 per annum. Our Employer 11% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022

Eligibility:

  • Holds or is working toward an appropriate tertiary qualification.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

  3. serious drug offences
