Job description

  • Flexible Location: Melbourne

Would you like to join a small but mighty creative design team working in-house at Aruma, a leading disability service provider? We’re after a Graphic Designer to work on our award-winning brand.

Your opportunity

As a Graphic Designer, you will report to the Senior Graphic Designer, and work with a collaborative, energised and supportive team to create a broad range of engaging visual solutions across all our channels, including digital and print.

Delivering high-quality designs consistent with the Aruma brand guidelines, you will contribute to the Aruma brand as well as other brands under Aruma Services, such as Summerland Farm and Aussie Biscuits.

From brief through to completion, whether rolling out templated designs or creating new solutions, you will execute a range of design projects, including social media posts; digital assets for our website and intranet; eDMs; print and digital advertisements; print collateral such as brochures and postcards; signage; stationery; video and more.

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of work demonstrating their creative and technical skills in design, layout, and typography. They will be confident working both independently and collaboratively, making them a real team player.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure all Aruma marketing and communication materials meet our brand guidelines.
  • Respond to all design requests within specified timeframes.
  • Manage design briefs efficiently from initial request through to completion.
  • Contribute to maintaining an up-to-date database of all artwork and photography.

Skills and Experience which will make you stand out…

  • Tertiary qualification in Graphic Design, and/or equivalent, with 3 years + demonstrated mid-level graphic design experience.
  • You have broad design experience and strong technical skills using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word).
  • Demonstrated experience in producing materials for print and digital, as well as managing printers and other production stakeholders.
  • You embrace our Customer Promise of ‘You.First’ and champion this by ensuring UX and empathy are at the forefront of your designs.
  • You’re ready to join a values-driven team (check out our Values below).
  • You’re proactive and self-motivated, and thrive when juggling, multitasking and managing a broad range of projects.
  • You have excellent communication skills – whether you’re speaking, writing, or designing – communicating with stakeholders comes naturally to you.
  • You have strong attention to detail, and you appreciate that it’s the little things that make a good design great, never failing to consider that crucial final edit.
  • It’s not a total deal breaker, but we are interested in hearing from candidates who have an interest/skill in animation and motion graphic.
