About the Position
Council are looking for an experienced, flexible and motivated Heavy Vehicle Mechanic to support the operations of the eventful workshop at Council's Culcairn Works Depot. This position works with the Workshop Foreman, repairing and servicing a range of Council equipment, ranging from large earthmoving machines to minor items of plant. A component of onsite repairs is also required, offering a change in scenery and requiring adaptability on occasions.
As Plant Mechanic
You will have:
· TAFE Certificate of Trade equivalent as a qualified motor mechanic;
· A demonstrated relevant experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy earthmoving machinery;
· Current Class ‘MR’ Driver’s Licence;
· Current WorkCover Construction Industry Induction Card coupled with a thorough understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) issues applying to work places; and
· The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

This position is located at Council’s Culcairn Works Depot, 35 minutes from Albury/Wodonga. Flexible working conditions offer a 76 hour, 9 day fortnight, with a salary in the range of $69,100 to $77,360 gross per annum plus allowances, overtime opportunities and an 11% Council Superannuation contribution. In addition, you will have access to a fully equipped maintenance vehicle during business hours for call out repairs.
