The successful applicant must be career minded, capable of working in a team environment whilst maintaining high standards at all times. Chemical Users Certificate and experience in light construction would be favourable.

What we are looking for:

Qualified Greenkeeper will be highly involved with the day to day course works. The successful applicant will be highly motivated with an exceptional work ethic and a keen eye for detail. A good understanding of weed and disease identification and control and experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems will be an advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

There is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to grow and develop their skills in leadership in a great environment. A good understanding of the rules of golf and being able to communicate between different departments, members and guests is essential. In addition the right candidate will:

• Must hold a current driver’s licence
• Trade qualification including chemical application certificate
• Experience in all aspects of course maintenance
• Competency with a range of machinery
• Experience and knowledge of chemicals and fertilisers
• Be hard working and physically fit for manual work
• Experience with reconstruction projects will be highly regarded

Role & Duties

The position reports to the Superintendent and the role includes: 

• General mowing duties and maintenance of all golf course surfaces
• Golf course setup
• Bunker repairs and maintenance
• Assist in construction projects
• Assist with Golf Course improvement Programs
• Installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation and drainage systems
• Identify and control weeds, pests and turf diseases
• Chemical spraying
• Responsible for hand spraying and maintaining proper mixing amounts and application techniques.
• Maintains log of applications and files related reports.
• Keeps up-to-date in knowledge of chemicals/fertilizers that are being applied.
• Ensures proper calibration of all spraying/fertilizing equipment.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
