Grounds & Cemetery Operations

Innes Gardens Memorial Park provides a range of crematorium, lawn cemetery and memorialisation services to the community in conjunction with funeral services provided by local Funeral Directors. Innes Gardens is located at Philip Charley Drive Port Macquarie and includes a chapel, administration offices, extensive grounds and memorial gardens.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will work with our assist our garden team to maintain our existing gardens and implement new landscapes to our ever growing and evolving memorial park.  Flexible work hours available. Casual/Permanent Part Time, minimum 2/3 days per week & leave coverage. 

Your main duties will include:

• Grounds maintenance including turf maintenance, pest and disease control, pruning, hedging, fertilising, minor building maintenance.
• Using a range of equipment including hand tools, backpack blowers, hedgers, brush cutters, chainsaws, push and ride on mowers
• General landscape construction
• Chemical spraying for weed and pest management.
• Planting trees, shrubs, and annuals including assistance of planting plans.
• Turf management (laying turf and regular maintenance) including assistance with establishing spray and fertilising schedules and determinations.
• Communicate effectively with Funeral Directors, Clergy, families and visitors.
• Preparation of graves and cemetery sites 

At times, you may also be required to provide additional support to the Burials and Crematorium team.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• The ability to perform a wide variety of manual labour tasks, indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• A capacity to be at ease working in a cemetery and crematoria environment.
• The physical strength to perform heavy lifting, landscaping and general maintenance duties for extended periods of time.
• Experience & certified in the use of bobcat & excavator, horticulture qualifications (preferred).
• An ability to use tools, machinery and equipment for construction and maintenance of park grounds, 
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
