Brisbane Gateway Resort is seeking an enthusiastic, individual with all-round maintenance and grounds skills to join the resort's Grounds Maintenance & Gardening Team.
Brisbane Gateway Resort is a leading Queensland holiday park, located on Brisbane's south-side. The resort has a range self-contained serviced accommodation and sites for touring caravans & motor homes all set among high-quality landscaped gardens and recreational facilities.
The Grounds Maintenance & Gardening Team Member position is permanent casual $30-35/hr, around 37 hours per week. Shifts are generally between 7:30am and 4:30pm weekdays, weekend work may be required.
The aim of this position is to provide safe, well-maintained grounds and facilities for guests of Brisbane Gateway Resort. Persons in this position will report to the Grounds and Maintenance Supervisor.
The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include (but are not necessarily limited to) the following:
A variety of maintenance and grounds tasks including mowing, edge-trimming, leaf-blowing, weeding, planting, mulching, spraying, pruning, removing palm leaves, sweeping and pressure washing.
Minor running maintenance and pre-start checks on vehicles, mowers, line-trimmers, blowers and other types of powered equipment.
Swimming pool maintenance and assisting with monitoring swimming pool water standards.
Litter patrols, monitoring tidiness of waste collection points and transferring waste in bins if required.
Performing general manual labour and maintenance tasks as required.
Assisting occasionally with special projects involving resort improvements and renovations.
Providing occasional support to housekeeping staff members in tasks where manual handling and ladders are involved or extra assistance is required.
Assisting with unscheduled and emergency maintenance and repairs.
Undertaking basic recording and reporting tasks associated with the above duties such as safety, security and inspection reports.
Applicants must be fit for physical labour, enthusiastic, mature-minded, confident, well-presented and able to demonstrate a high level of work-ethic and initiative. A current Open C Class Manual Driver's License is required in order to drive resort vehicles.
