St John of God Health Care Group Services is seeking a Group Manager Research Office to manage the efficient and effective operations of the St John of God Health Care Research and Clinical Trial Network. In this position you will undertake and supervise clinical trials, as well as oversee research training and education for all clinical caregivers including medical, nursing and allied health.
This role is offered on a Permanent fulltime basis working 76 hours a fortnight.
The Position
- To undertake all management responsibilities for the operations of all research at SJGHC.
- To undertake all management responsibilities for the operations of the commercial Clinical Trial Unit (CTU) at SJGHC
- Assist the Director of Research with the preparation of annual research budgets in consultation with relevant departments and other stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to enhance research governance frameworks, working in collaboration with SJGHC Human Research Ethics Committee representatives.
- Working with the Director of Research, identify research partners and foster development of collaborative and constructive relationships.
- Liaison with SJG Divisions to facilitate inter-divisional collaboration.
- Promote SJGHC based research at state, national and international fora if required.
The successful candidate will have:
- A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
- Qualification and/or experience of service provision in the medical research or health sector either private or Government.
- Experience with research planning and conduct.
- Demonstrated ability to manage clinical trial research agreements.
- Excellent computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database packages.
- Working knowledge of good clinical practice and clinical regulatory ethical and legal frameworks.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups of people within the clinical and medical research community.
- Knowledge of quality assessment and assurance principles and practices.
- Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills. Possession of excellent time management skills, and ability to manage conflicting priorities and to work using own initiative.
- Proven ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders from differing backgrounds.
- Demonstrated track record in research domain.
