KEY FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Essential functionsSite accounting - Mt Cattlin
- Undertake month end process for the Mt Cattlin site, including accurate recording of phyiscals and costs.
- Cost review and reporting
- Oversee inventory reporting (including stockpile movement models) and stocktakes
- Oversee weekly fuel reporting and lodgement of diesel fuel rebate
- Monitor and report external stakeholders - DMIRS
- Oversee monthly royalty obligations, including lodgement
- Review open purchase orders and follow up for accruals
- Involvement in arranging shipping
- Provide guidance and assistance to site management
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and/or review budgets for Mt Cattlin
- Monthly financial and physical reporting of Mt Cattlin results and operations to management.
- Maintain the fixed asset register for site.
- Provision of information for the auditors
- Site travel is expected with this role, especially around month-end period
KEY FUNCTIONS & ACCOUNTABILITIESCorporate accounting
- Assist with the monthly consolidation process.
- Month end process for the corporate entities.
- Review open purchase orders and follow up for accruals
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and/or review budgets for corporate entities.
- Analysis of financial statements/balances for reporting and corrective action.
- Review/balance inter-company transactions.
- Provision of information for the auditors.
- Process journals and other transaction entries.
- Checking of payment files prior to payment.
Reporting- Assist with quarterly ASX and other financial reporting process.
- Assist with reporting for ASX and subsidiary entity accounts.
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements and reports in accordance with the reporting schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department.
- Prepare of Australian Bureau Statistics (ABS) surveys, ESG reports or other reports.
Other- Assist with other ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Undertake project work as required. Including systems improvements and implementations, migration of accounting systems, integration of businesses.
- Identify and assist with continual improvement in policies, processes and procedures.
HSE
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with company policies, procedures, and all legislative requirements.
- Undertaking all duties with high regard to Company safety standards, compliance with statutory requirements and the need to contribute to the improvement of safety performance.
- Carry out all activities in compliance with company HSE policies and procedures and relevant regulations. Report all personal injuries, incidents, near misses and hazards and assist in investigations, when required.
- Promote and facilitate compliance of the relevant contract personnel with company HSE policy and procedures.
- Facilitate and promote company's compliance with environment policy, procedures, statutory requirements and regulations, particularly in the areas relevant to the duties of the position.
- Follow emergency procedures.
REQUIREMENTS OF ROLEEducation/Qualifications Essential
- Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Practising
Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation.
Desirable- Previous mining & resources experience
Knowledge & Skills • 5 years plus experience in accounting within either a medium/large corporate or public practice environment.
- In-depth technical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards and Corporations Act regulations.
- Experience with ERP systems. System used currently is PRONTO.
- Extensive use of Microsoft Office with advanced MS Excel skills.
- Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of Business intelligence systems (System used currently is QlikSense)
