GRP Australia is a growing business located in Virginia, North Brisbane. We pre-fabricate structures including platforms, buildings and handrails in our Virginia workshop using glass reinforced polymers (GRP or FRP) for our clients across Australia.
Fabricating with GRP requires skills similar to working with timber and steel, but with no welding required. GRP Australia has modern CNC machines to aid in the GRP fabrication process. Training in the use of the CNC machines will be offered and you will be expected to learn the use of and eventually become proficient with using machines.
In this role you will also be expected to assist the warehouse in goods receipt and dispatch when required.
The Ideal candidate will have the following skills:
Ability to read and understand drawings
Experience with CNC machines or willingness to learn
Experience with hand tools
Ability to work autonomously
Car driver’s Licence
Forklift Licence
Pay will be commensurate with experience and skills.
Position Description
Cutting and drilling of pultruded GRP structural sections using hand tools
Operating CNC machining for milling and drilling of GRP structural sections
Cutting of GRP grating with CNC or by hand tools
Assembly of GRP modular handrail systems
Assembly of fabricated structural frames
Assist in warehousing receipt and dispatch of good
Stocktaking as required
