Description
Position: Teacher, Nominated Supervisor and Educational Leader – 23.50 hours per week. Monday to Wednesday. Location: Gunbower Kindergarten Start: Immediate start Employment conditions: Fixed Term until 20/12/2024 (VECTEA 2020) Our mission is to make every moment matter. Each kindergarten has an Educational Leader supported by a team comprised of Bachelor, Diploma and/or Certificate 3 Qualified Staff. We also have a designated Early Years Advisor (Bachelor Trained and Experienced) for each kindergarten who actively supports the staff through regular visits. We offer:

About the role: As the Nominated Supervisor you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the service at all times, meeting the requirements of “The Kindergarten Guide” of the Department of Education and Training (DET), the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations. As Educational Leader, the successful candidate will lead the implementation of the educational program and ensuring that clear goals for teaching and learning within the educator team are developed through a collaborative vision with regard to curriculum and pedagogy. You will be active and passionate about early years learning theories and curriculum and to share this expertise to inspire co-educators to strive for continuous improvement. You will be a positive and enthusiastic mentor and coach to all co-educators, supporting continuous learning and reflection of educators. As teacher you will provide high quality developmentally appropriate, educational programs for kindergarten aged children in accordance with the National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework. You will be responsible for developing and providing an educational program which contributes to the following outcomes for each child as per the Education and Care Services National Regulations Reg. 73

As teacher you will meet regularly with Educational Leader to discuss the development, implementation and critical reflection of the educational program. As the Teacher you will develop collaborative relationships with families that supports and values families’ expertise and beliefs and allows for families to contribute to decision making about their child’s learning and wellbeing. You will also develop collaborative relationships with colleagues to support the further development of skills and improve practice. About you: The successful candidate will be a qualified Early Childhood Teacher with a passion to educate children and work in a collaborative manner with their colleagues. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their professionalism, flexibility, leadership, ability to work with others and to foreground First Nations perspectives in their pedagogy and practice.
  • Early Childhood Teaching Qualifications as approved by ACECQA-Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority.
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate & current CPR or equivalent.
  • Anaphylaxis Management
  • Emergency Asthma Management
  • Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration – Early Childhood
  • Experience within the early childhood education field
