Sydney Uni Sport is a dynamic organisation providing sporting, recreation and fitness services to the University and general community.
We are currently recruiting for a Casual Gym Floor Attendant / Personal Trainer to work across both of our gym facilities, located at the Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre (SUSAC) and The Arena Sports Centre. Two shifts are immediately available on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6.30am-2pm with more opportunities to become available soon.
The Gym Floor Attendant is responsible for the presentation of the fitness facilities ensuring cleanliness and strict WHS guidelines are adhered to, as well as providing services to members including fitness assessments, fitness programs and general guidance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing health assessments on members and clients.
- Assessing movement mechanics of clientele to ensure optimal technique whilst training.
- Prescription of exercise to a wide range of clientele from sporting populations through to elderly with goals from weight loss to sporting performance.
- Conduct group training classes to improve fitness and physical literacy of members.
- Motivating and supervising exercise sessions.
- Educate members and clients on healthy nutrition habits and assist in behavior change.
- Perform the above duties for overseas students with limited English.
- Conduct personal training sessions.
- Manage Gym Floor ensuring all participants are safe and performing exercises correctly.
- Conduct Boot Camp style group training sessions.
- Cleaning and maintenance of fitness center equipment.
About You
- Cert III & IV in Fitness
- First Aid and CPR
- Working with Children Check
- Registration with ESSA/Fitness Australia
- Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of communication and customer service skills
- Passion for health and fitness
- Second language (desirable)
- Bachelor of Sports Science (desirable)
- High level of physical fitness and health
