This opportunity to join the team as a Gym Instructor will allow you to enhance the fitness opportunities of the Hume City Council residents by effectively and efficiently carrying out the tasks necessary to maintain the fitness area of Broadmeadows Aquatic & Leisure centre, Sunbury Aquatic & Leisure centre and SPLASH Aquatic & Leisure centre.
What you'll be doing:
- Active supervision and member engagement across our health clubs within Hume.
- Experience in conducting fitness appraisals while assessing physical and health capabilities of gymnasium users.
- Knowledge and experience in prescribing fitness programs tailored to meet the needs of the community.
- Conduct exercise demonstration with verbal cues on safety and correct technique. Deliver the highest standards of instruction.
- Ensure the fitness area is maintained in a clean, safe, hygienic and tidy manner at all times while following housekeeping and maintenance procedures.
- Exceptional time management skills, with the flexibility to be able to work within all centre trading hours, including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends.
- Highly proactive in recruitment on the gym floor for fitness appointment bookings.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and build rapport with community members across a range of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Key skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
- Current Certificate III in Fitness or equivalent Fitness Industry Qualification. Certificate IV in Fitness or higher is desirable.
- Current fitness registration with Aus Active, Physical Activity Australia or equivalent.
- Current Fitness Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Current Working with Children's Check Certificate.
- Current Driver's License
