We have an opportunity for an experienced Handy Person to join the Hire Society team.
With over 4,500 lines for hire this role in varied in nature and involves working with wood, metal and plastic equipment to ensure our hire products are maintained at the highest standard.
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Undertaking general repairs and maintenance as well as preventative maintenance programs of all hire equipment. This includes basic woodwork, finishing and painting, metal work and welding.
- Performing duties relevant to experience and trade as applicable and perform other maintenance related tasks as required.
- Maintaining the departments budgets.
- Seeking third party supplier quotes for external repair of equipment when needed.
- Proactive planning of equipment for maintenance by third parties
- Supervising and training other team members to assist within the maintenance department when required.
- Assist product design of future hire equipment in relation to recommendations on materials, handling, storage, and maintenance issues.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
- Technical background in a complimentary trade with maintenance experience
- Demonstrated experience in woodwork, finishing and painting.
- Can do attitude.
- Exceptional organisational skills as well as the ability to multitask.
- Computer literate.
- The ability to work both unsupervised and in a team environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills including fluent written and spoken English.
- Motivated and enthusiastic.
You must have unlimited working rights in Australia. This is a full-time salary position working Monday through Friday in our Shenton Park warehouse. The ability to work within a physical environment where lifting and moving of furniture items is required is necessary for this role.
