In order to achieve that mission we are looking for a Handy Person /Grounds Keeper to join our team and take care of the day-to-day repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of our early learning services. With your passion for maintaining safe and welcoming environments and an eye for detail you will ensure that our services are safe and welcoming environments for the children and our team to flourish.
As part of your role you will be provided with a vehicle and expected to travel to the following areas:
- Tarneit
- Glenroy
- Craigieburn
- Narre Warren
- Emerald
- Gembrook
- Research
- Mernda
We are growing and have additional services coming onboard in the next 2 years so there will always be plenty of work!

YOUR ROLE:
- Carry out all general maintenance and repairs at each of the services
- Identify and report the need for major repairs or any WHS on premises
- Management of the maintenance log to ensure all tasks are logged and closed off
- Routine gardening of premises including but not limited to:
- Grounds maintenance
- Cleaning tasks i.e. sweeping, blowing, dusting etc to ensure area is free of debris
- and sand
- Ensuring car parks are clear of rubbish and debris
- Complete safety checklist every fortnight to ensure all children are protected from hazard
- Ensure a safe environment and culture for children, families and employees
- Comply with childcare regulations at all times
ABOUT YOU:
- Experience in building and grounds maintenance
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment
- Knowledge of safe working conditions
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse
- workplace
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.
- A good level of fitness to undertake work requirements.
- Ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
- Have an excellent can do attitude.
- Working with Children's Check or willing to obtain
- Police check
- Current Drivers License
- Previous experience in a trade such as carpentry - desirable
- Own set of tools – desirable
