Handyman/Handyperson

A rare opportunity to join the Maintenance teams of  Australia's leading Egg supplier and distributor is now available .

Our client requires multiple full time Handyperson/Maintenance Technician's to join their teams at 2 Hunter Poultry Farms. 

This role requires 7 day availably and will see you working Monday to Friday and every second weekend on call. 

Locations: 

• Greta - 1x Handy person
• Buchanan - 1x Handy person

Key Experience and qualifications:

• 2-5 years Experience as a Handyman or in Industrial Maintenance ideal.
• No qualifications necessary! On the job training provided 

Desirables:

• Mechanical/Electrical Aptitude
• First Aid Certificate
• Forklift Ticket
• Working at Heights Ticket

Key Responsibilities:

This role includes but is not limited to the following tasks:

• Conduct preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment in the Grading and Warehouse areas.
• Maintain and repair plant and equipment within the Grading and Warehouse areas
• Attend to and supervise breakdowns and provide liaison with Site Manager
• Refurbish Moba parts including carriers, rollers and circuit boards etc
• Clean and maintain Crack Detectors
• Clean machine and associated parts as required
• Ordering of spare parts (following approval from site manager)
• Provide regular reports to Site Manager
• Actively participate in daily/weekly/monthly production meetings
• Administrative duties associated with maintenance section
• Ensures all checks are carried out and all paperwork is filled in correctly
• Maintain records as required both written and electronic
• Supervise and monitor spare parts and consignment stock levels
• Testing and Tagging of electrical equipment
• Building maintenance
• Maintaining a clean working environment
• Report on any safety issues and Hazards identified in the conduct of the assigned tasks
• Attend to breakdowns as required
• Assist operations staff with maintaining production levels as required

The tasks may require the employee to work in dirty, wet and small environments and will require working at heights on occasion.

The role:

• Casual Contract with opportunity for Permanent Employment
• 38hrs +OT
• Monday to Friday + On call 2nd Weekend with allowance per day 
• Must have license and reliable transport
• No accommodation supplied.  
• Strick Bio-Security, cannot own or live on a property with other Birds, Chickens or Pigs.
