Hatchery Technician - Kellidie Bay

We are currently looking for a Hatchery Technician based at our Kellidie Bay Hatchery.

The role:

This role will assist in the breeding, spawning, and rearing of oyster larvae. Specifically, your tasks will involve:

• Follow the directions, procedures, and routines vital for the health and quality of our oysters, including monitoring water quality parameters and performing routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning tanks and equipment.
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals.
• Adhere to strict health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

About you:

Previous shellfish hatchery experience would be beneficial but not essential as we're willing to train the right candidate who is motivated and eager to learn. The skills and attributes you will need to have are:

• Ability to follow directions, procedures, and routine tasks with precision.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Excellent work ethic and willingness to work hard.
• Flexibility with working hours, including weekends, as the role may require it.
