BUSINESS OVERVIEW
Hay Australia prides itself on exporting quality hay to our customers around the world. Working closely with our growers, we purchase, store and process hay to export via our robust supply chain network.
We have recently embarked on a phase of rapid growth, which includes the acquisition of four hay processing facilities in WA, VIC and SA making our group a leader in the Australian Export Hay industry.
Our parent company, AgTrade, is a wholly Australian owned global livestock, genetics and food security group with a 50 year history.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Operate machinery and Hay Press in accordance with safety standards, to meet product specifications, according to company and customer requirements and deadlines.
- Maintain a high level of quality control and hygiene standards through the identification of raw product types, variations, and characteristics.
- Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the proper and safe function of all equipment.
- Operate and maintain mobile plant such as telehandler and forklift to move hay bales and finished goods within the processing facility.
- Ensure accuracy and conformance with prestart checks and plant inspection processes.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of production documentation.
- Other production related duties as assigned by shift lead or supervisor to run and operate line effectively.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Mechanically minded with the ability to problem solve.
- Mechanical and hydraulics operation knowledge.
- Ability to work with tools for minor maintenance and servicing tasks.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, strong work ethic and self-motived.
- A focus on health and safety.
- Driver’s License.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Previous experience operating a Hay Press, or a PLC controlled fixed plant.
- Mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical background.
- High-Risk forklift license. If not held, the successful applicant will receive the required training and tickets.
LOCATION
Located in the center of South Australia's grain growing region on the Yorke Peninsula our site is located approximately 20 km east of Kadina on the Copper Coast Highway, 125km from Adelaide. Our business operates five days per week and shifts are 12 hours. There is possible weekend and after hours call out work.
- 12 hours Monday to Friday.
- Salary paid on experience.
