Zarafa group is seeking experienced and skilled individuals to join our team as a Horizontal Directional Driller and Locator. Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment to install underground utilities, such as telecommunications, water, gas, and power lines.
- Conduct pre-drill site surveys, including utility locates and markouts.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan and execute directional drilling projects efficiently and safely.
- Monitor drilling operations, including the tracking of depth, alignment, and other drilling parameters.
- Conduct regular maintenance and inspections on drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Operate utility locating equipment
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations throughout the drilling and locating processes.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling activities, including daily reports, job site documentation, and as-built drawings.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Horizontal Directional Driller and Locator in the underground utility industry.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining directional drilling equipment, including drill rigs, mud mixing systems, and tracking systems.
- Strong knowledge of utility locating techniques and equipment.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting utility plans, blueprints, and maps.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other crew members.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in challenging situations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Valid driver's license and truck license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications such as HDD operator certification, locator certification, or similar credentials.
- Knowledge of local regulations and industry standards related to underground utility installation.
